Piet Peere - Film

‘I AM A GREEDY GUT WHEN IT COMES TO PAINTING. I WANT TO EXPERIENCE AND TASTE EVERYTHING. THIS IS A BLESSING AS WELL AS A CURSE FOR ME. SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG, THE SHAPE SHOULD ALMOST HURT.’

BRING ME DOWN (2016)

A documentary about the famous Flemish painter and sculptor Piet Peere. Captured as a search to the essence of the art of painting. With a rock solid belief in the importance of technique and the ability to let this go through the experience. Through semi-abstract paintings, drawings, etching and sculptures he shows us his point of view of the world. His work portrays the inner confusion and discontent that influences this day and age. In his beautifully located studio - minimalistic and empty as a contrast to his turbulent mind - we see a man with an indomitable energy who is totally engrossed in his work. Separate from growing trends, without making any concessions to himself or others. This has in the meantime lead to impressive wayward works and a variety of exhibitions nationally and internationally.

To see in the nex exhibition - 30MIN.
